MerMay Onine Art Contest
MerMay, a month-long art celebration in May inspired by mermaids, invites artists worldwide to share their unique interpretations of mermaids daily. Founded by former Disney animator Tom Bancroft, Tom tapped Whitney to produce and host the show along with fellow creative mermaid lover Lauren Barger. Since their introduction, the community has exploded! Whit and Lauren have serialized the essence of not just designing mermaids, but breaking into the world of creativity by going live on Instagram with legendary animators, kid lit authors, toy designers, and more. They’ve also partnered with numerous creative companies to offer the tools aspiring and passionate creatives need to succeed in the world of commercial art.

She collaborated with Anileague to develop a campaign that reached over 70 million users and multiple celebrity influencers. The message was: “Even though some days you may feel teeny tiny, you’re strong, you’re tough, and you can do anything!” The project, called Fairy Spell, featured the tagline “We See You” and became the highest-grossing women-led PFP in China—achieving this milestone without ever using cryptocurrency.
-
Metaverse
In collaboration with IMVU, Whitney created a virtual underwater studio space called ART-LANTIS, where creative friends could gather, chat, take selfies, and pose on a model stand while others sketched them. The event featured a live Q&A with Whitney, attracting thousands of virtual attendees, and ART-LANTIS remains a fun spot for like-minded friends to connect and hang out on the IMVU metaverse platform.
